The U.S. Supreme Court agreed Tuesday to decide whether the Trump administration must give a watchdog group records about the Department of Government Efficiency, the cost-cutting effort Elon Musk led last year.
A federal judge had ordered DOGE to respond to requests from Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, known as CREW, about how the office operated. The administration appealed, arguing that DOGE should not be subject to those requests.
The court will hear arguments and is expected to rule by the end of June.
On the same day, the justices agreed to hear a separate immigration case. The administration wants to deny asylum to a Nigerian man who was forced to cook for an armed separatist group. A lower court ruled that cooking under those conditions was not “material support” for terrorism.
