PHOENIX — The Phoenix Suns could get big man Oso Ighodaro back as soon as Friday night, after he went through most of practice Wednesday, Phoenix Suns On SI reported.
Ighodaro hurt his oblique in the season opener and has missed the last two games. The Suns host the Denver Nuggets on Friday, Oct. 30, in an NBA Cup game.
“He went through practice today, so he did most of practice. This was his highest day back,” Suns coach Jordan Ott said, via PHNX Suns. Ott added the team will “be smart with him” and watch how he responds.
Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro reported Ighodaro is feeling better but is still listed as day-to-day, with no change to his status for Friday.
Phoenix is 1-2 and has been outrebounded early in the season. Ighodaro, in his third season, lost the opening-night starting job to Khaman Maluach, and the frontcourt pairing of Maluach and Duop Reath has struggled, according to On SI.
Ighodaro’s passing, ball-handling and ability to switch on defense could give the starting lineup a lift once he is cleared.
