PHOENIX — Four Arizona Diamondbacks are finalists for 2026 Rawlings Gold Glove Awards, with the winners set to be revealed Sunday night on ESPN, the team and MLB.com said.
Catcher Gabriel Moreno, shortstop Geraldo Perdomo, right fielder Corbin Carroll and utility player Ildemaro Vargas made the National League lists. Only the Blue Jays and Cubs, with five each, had more finalists.
Moreno, who won a Gold Glove in 2023, had +14 Defensive Runs Saved, second among catchers only to Detroit’s Dillon Dingler, according to MLB.com. He faces San Diego’s Freddy Fermin and the Mets’ Luis Torrens.
Perdomo, a first-time finalist, set career highs with +13 Fielding Run Value and +16 Outs Above Average. He is up against Dansby Swanson of the Cubs and Masyn Winn of St. Louis.
Carroll, a finalist for the second straight year, ranked in baseball’s 95th percentile with +10 OAA, MLB.com said. Vargas, who played mostly first and second base, earned his first nomination with a career-best-tying +4 FRV.
Managers and coaches account for 75% of the vote, with the SABR Defensive Index making up the rest. The utility award uses a separate formula.
