Michael Wilson played through two broken ribs as Cardinals’ injury list grows

An NFL game

ARLINGTON, Texas — Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Michael Wilson revealed after Sunday’s 33-30 overtime win over Dallas that he played with two broken ribs, according to Arizona Sports.

Wilson caught eight passes for 111 yards, including the 13-yard touchdown that tied the game with six seconds left in regulation, the reports said.

He wore a yellow non-contact jersey at practice all week to protect his ribs and went into the medical tent near the end of the first half after crashing into the turf on an overthrown pass, according to Arizona Sports.

The win came at a cost. Running back Bam Knight went down in the first half and did not return, and running back Jeremiyah Love left with an ankle injury, Arizona Sports reported.

Wide receiver Kendrick Bourne suffered an ankle sprain before halftime, and receiver Reggie Virgil was carted to the locker room after hitting the base of the goal post in the fourth quarter. Left tackle Jayden Williams left with a knee injury.

At one point, Simi Fehoko and Virgil were the Cardinals’ only available wide receivers.

Arizona, now 3-5, will get more clarity on the injuries as the week goes on.
