Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Oct. 20 that Kyiv is again receiving early warnings from its partners about Russian missile attacks, after recent strikes he said came without enough notice, The Associated Press reported.
Zelenskyy said the warnings save lives by giving the public time to take shelter and military units time to try to intercept missiles. He said the change followed talks with U.S. officials, including a phone call with Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Norway’s prime minister said U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff will fly to St. Petersburg on Wednesday to meet Russian leaders.
The developments follow a week of strained U.S.-Ukraine relations after Washington waived new sanctions on Moscow.
