FAA Certifies Boeing 737 Max 10 for Passenger Service After Years of Delays

The Federal Aviation Administration on Oct. 20 certified Boeing’s 737 Max 10 for passenger service, clearing airlines to fly the long-delayed jet, The Associated Press reported.

The FAA said the approval followed extensive safety reviews and thousands of hours of test flights.

The Max 10 is the largest member of the 737 family. It was introduced in 2017 but faced technical and safety concerns that slowed certification. It is designed to carry more passengers while using less fuel, which appeals to airlines facing high jet fuel costs.

The certification is a milestone in Boeing’s effort to restore its reputation.
