CLEVELAND, Ohio — Robert George, a prominent figure in Cleveland’s business scene, is facing serious legal trouble as an arrest warrant reveals multiple charges against him. George, 43, who is well-known for his ownership of TownHall and other major local establishments, is now charged with attempted murder, four counts of kidnapping, two counts of strangulation, felonious assault, and rape.
The arrest warrant, issued on Friday evening, indicates that George, who also goes by Bobby, is currently not in custody. The charges stem from allegations of severe physical and verbal abuse reported by a woman, with incidents dating back from November 2023 to July 2024.
According to the warrant, on November 14, 2023, George allegedly pinned the victim to the ground and strangled her, causing severe injuries including blurred vision, ringing in her ears, and bleeding. The victim was reportedly treated by a nurse practitioner at one of George’s businesses and was diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome.
In a separate incident, the warrant details a harrowing episode where George is accused of following the victim to her car, brandishing a gun, and forcibly bringing her back into the home she had tried to escape. The document also describes a disturbing episode between June 8 and June 10 of this year, where George allegedly shoved a towel down the victim’s throat, taunted her as she prayed for her life, and attempted to strangle her while also physically assaulting her.
The victim reportedly sought refuge in a closet during this altercation but was unable to escape George’s violence. Additionally, the warrant mentions an instance where George allegedly raped the victim as she was exiting the shower and another occasion where he threw her into a closet as she attempted to leave.
George’s business ventures extend across the Cleveland and Columbus areas and include notable names such as Ethos Hospitality Group, Bobby George Restaurants, REBoL, TownHall, and several other popular venues like Harry Buffalo, Green Goat Cafe Bar, and the Lost Social Club, among others.
