A 6-year-old boy and a 35-year-old man were killed Oct. 17 when a pickup truck drove onto a field during a youth soccer game at the Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, Kansas, police said.
Wichita police identified the victims as Cole Adrian and Nicholas Schafer, both of McPherson. Ten other people were injured; their injuries were described as not critical.
The 34-year-old driver, who police said had two of her children in the truck, was released while the investigation continues. No charges have been filed pending toxicology results and a mechanical inspection of the vehicle.
The Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office said it will review the case.
