TUCSON — The University of Arizona has placed its Sigma Phi Epsilon chapter on interim suspension, barring it from hosting or taking part in any activities while the school investigates, 13 News reported via AZFamily.
In a letter sent Wednesday, the Dean of Students Office accused the fraternity of hosting parties on Aug. 26 and Sept. 29 and providing alcohol to minors. Members are barred from contacting any alleged victims or their families, and the chapter must meet with the office by Oct. 26.
A woman has told University of Arizona police that two members sexually assaulted her at the fraternity house during the Aug. 26 party, according to a search warrant. No charges have been announced.
“Reports of sexual assault are deeply concerning to our campus,” said Amanda Kraus, vice president for student affairs. The chapter was already on probation after hazing allegations in May, including sleep deprivation and forced drinking.
