MESA — Three young people were seriously injured when a car hit them on Halloween night in east Mesa, police said.
Officers and Mesa Fire and Medical crews responded just before 7:30 p.m. Saturday to the area of Crismon and Ray roads, according to Arizona’s Family. Police described the victims as “pediatric/adolescent pedestrians” and said they may have been on bikes, FOX 10 Phoenix reported.
All three were taken to a trauma center with serious injuries. Firefighters at the scene saw a bike on the road in front of a heavily damaged car, Arizona’s Family reported.
The driver stayed at the scene, was evaluated and was also taken to a hospital. Police said they do not suspect impairment played a role.
Police have not released the names or ages of the driver or the victims. It was not yet known whether the driver could face charges.
The crash came on a rainy Halloween night across the Valley as families went out trick-or-treating between storms.
