PHOENIX — Valley residents can expect a mild, dry week with highs in the low 80s before cooler air arrives next weekend, according to the AZFamily First Alert Weather forecast.
Phoenix hit 82 degrees Saturday, and Sunday is forecast to bring the same high of 82. Temperatures are expected to stay in the low 80s Monday through Wednesday.
Thursday should be the warmest day of the week, with a high near 84 degrees. That is a few degrees above the normal high of 78 for this time of year. Highs are expected to ease back into the low 80s on Friday.
Forecasters said changes are likely next weekend, with temperatures dropping back into the 70s. There is also a slight chance of rain, though confidence in that part of the forecast is low.
Even with dry skies, water from last weekend’s heavy rain is still moving through the watershed. Flood warnings remain in effect along portions of the Salt, Verde and Gila rivers through at least Sunday evening.
Officials continue to urge people never to drive through flooded roads and to stay away from rushing water in washes and rivers.
