PHOENIX — A calm, sunny start to the week will give way to a wet Halloween weekend in the Valley as two storm systems move into Arizona, according to the Arizona’s Family First Alert Weather team.
Highs will reach about 86 degrees Monday and stay in the mid to upper 80s through Thursday, with morning lows in the 50s and 60s.
The first storm arrives Thursday night into Friday, bringing widespread rain and possible thunderstorms. The Valley could see close to half an inch of rain, with more in the higher terrain to the north.
Saturday, Halloween, falls between the two systems, with a 30% chance of showers and highs in the upper 70s, so a few showers are possible during trick-or-treating. A second, potentially heavier round of rain is expected Sunday, when highs drop into the low 70s.
The new storms follow a weekend that left about 6 inches of fresh snow at Arizona Snowbowl near Flagstaff.
