Iran Says Renewed U.S. Strikes Wouldn’t Change Its Positions as Tehran Braces for Winter Gas Shortages

Tehran, Iran

TEHRAN — Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Sunday that a resumption of war with the United States and Israel would not change Iran’s policies, after President Donald Trump suggested Washington “may do another little Epic Fury,” CBS News reported.

“Whether there is war or not, our policies remain the same,” Araghchi said. The U.S.-Israeli campaign against Iran began Feb. 28.

Parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf called for a nationwide effort to cut natural gas use by at least 10% ahead of winter, offering cash payments to households that conserve. Strikes during the most intense phase of fighting damaged gas refineries, according to Tehran.

Elsewhere in the region, explosions were heard in Riyadh as Saudi Arabia prepared to reopen its capital’s international airport after a two-week closure caused by Houthi attacks. The Saudi-led coalition said it intercepted 10 Houthi missiles Sunday. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards also said they struck a Kurdish opposition group’s base in northern Iraq with drones.
