PHOENIX — Democrats lead in every Arizona statewide race three weeks before Election Day, largely because Republican voters are not consolidating behind their nominees, according to a HighGround Public Affairs poll released Tuesday, KTAR News reported.

The survey of 400 likely voters found Gov. Katie Hobbs ahead of Republican Rep. Andy Biggs 50.5% to 33.7%. Attorney General Kris Mayes led Senate President Warren Petersen by 15 points, and Secretary of State Adrian Fontes led Rep. Alexander Kolodin by nearly 12.

In open-seat races, Democrat Nick Mansour led Republican Elijah Norton by 9 points for treasurer, and Democrat Teresa Leyba Ruiz led Treasurer Kimberly Yee by 6 points for superintendent of public instruction.

Republican candidates were winning only 68% to 75% of Republicans; Biggs had 70.6%. By comparison, Donald Trump had 88% Republican support in HighGround’s polling at this point in 2024. “There’s a built-in Republican advantage in the state, and right now those candidates are not taking advantage of it,” HighGround’s Paul Bentz said.
