NEW YORK — Heidi Klum arrived at her annual Halloween party Saturday as a giant, bloody severed hand, marking 25 years since she began hosting the event, The Associated Press reported via CBS News.
Only Klum’s eyes and mouth were visible. The top of the hand ended in dangling tendons and ligaments, and she was accompanied by helpers in blood-stained hazmat suits.
The costume was modeled on her own left hand, complete with long red nails, a thumb ring, her engagement ring and wedding band, palm lines and veins, and a tattoo of husband Tom Kaulitz’s name on the ring finger.
“I looked at my hand and I thought, ‘Hey, I think I could fit my body in this somehow,'” Klum said. She said the idea came to her last year.
Klum said it took five to six hours to get into the costume. “Hands down, the hardest thing is carrying it,” she said. “It’s quite heavy.” Kaulitz did not attend because he was on tour.
Klum went viral in 2022 as a giant worm. Past costumes have included Medusa, a peacock, an 8-foot Transformer and a werewolf from Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video.
