TUCSON — A crash near Houghton Road forced the Arizona Department of Transportation to close the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 on Tucson’s southeast side Monday evening, Oct. 26.
ADOT announced the closure at about 6 p.m. and said there was no estimate for reopening. Westbound traffic kept moving.
Roughly an hour and a half later, at about 7:30 p.m., the agency said the eastbound lanes had reopened, while cautioning drivers to expect delays as the backed-up traffic cleared.
ADOT’s releases did not describe the crash or say whether anyone was injured. The Houghton Road interchange sits along a heavily traveled stretch of I-10 that carries traffic between Tucson and Benson.
