Cardinals’ Patchwork Line Faces Cowboys Wrecking Ball Quinnen Williams in Dallas

AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas

ARLINGTON, Texas — The Arizona Cardinals take a banged-up offensive line into Sunday’s game at Dallas, where four-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Quinnen Williams is on a tear, Arizona Sports reported.

Guard Jon Gaines II is out with an ankle injury, and starting center Hjalte Froholdt is questionable after tweaking his knee Thursday. Because Gaines is also the backup center, Arizona could be down to a backup left tackle, third-string right guard and third-string center Hayden Conner.

Williams leads the Cowboys with three sacks, all in the past four games, and his nine tackles for loss lead NFL defensive tackles, according to Arizona Sports.

“He can wreck a game quick, and I remember that when he was a young guy. It certainly hasn’t changed,” said Cardinals coach Mike LaFleur, who previously worked with Williams as the New York Jets’ offensive coordinator.

Quarterback Jacoby Brissett has the fourth-fastest average time to throw in the league, according to Next Gen Stats, but took hits repeatedly in last week’s loss to Denver.

On defense, Arizona elevated lineman Jared Harrison-Hunte to the active roster Saturday with Walter Nolen III ruled out for a second straight game. The team also elevated tight end Kenny Yeboah.
