NEW ORLEANS — Former Arizona State star receiver Jordyn Tyson was activated off injured reserve ahead of the New Orleans Saints’ game against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, the team announced Saturday.

Tyson, the eighth overall pick in this year’s draft, injured his right hamstring in a joint practice with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Aug. 13 and began his rookie season on injured reserve, according to Arizona Sports.

He returned to practice this week for the first time since the injury, was a limited participant and was listed as questionable.

“This was his first opportunity to be out there with the team, so it was good to see him,” Saints head coach Kellen Moore said Wednesday.

Tyson also hurt his right hamstring during his final season at ASU, but Moore said earlier that he does not believe the injuries are connected.

Over his last two seasons in Tempe, Tyson had 136 catches for 1,812 yards and 18 touchdowns in 21 games and earned first-team All-Big 12 honors both years.
