The NFL has fined Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown $9,528 for the hit that knocked Arizona Cardinals running back Bam Knight out of last week’s game, according to multiple reports cited by Arizona Sports.
Overshown led with his shoulder and made contact with Knight’s head in the second quarter, forcing a fumble the Cowboys recovered. The play was not penalized.
Knight was down for several minutes and was later ruled out with a concussion. He will miss this week’s game, according to the report.
The Cardinals’ backfield was already short-handed. Rookie Jeremiyah Love left the same game with a right ankle injury and was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, expected to miss four to five weeks.
Tyler Allgeier handled most of the snaps at running back the rest of the way in Arizona’s win.
