GLENDALE — The Baltimore Ravens’ quarterback crisis could create a trade market for Arizona Cardinals veteran Jacoby Brissett, Arizona Sports reported.
Baltimore is placing two-time MVP Lamar Jackson on injured reserve, and backup Tyler Huntley is dealing with suspected turf toe. Third-stringer Joe Fagnano, an undrafted rookie, has an ankle injury, so the Ravens brought in former UFL quarterback Austin Reed and ex-Cardinals backup Kedon Slovis, according to the report.
In Arizona, coach Mike LaFleur announced Monday that Gardner Minshew will start going forward, with rookie Carson Beck as the backup. That leaves Brissett, who started all eight games, without a clear role.
Minshew replaced Brissett late in the third quarter Sunday, and the Cardinals came back from 14 points down to beat the Dallas Cowboys in overtime.
Asked about a possible trade, LaFleur said Brissett is “only focused on this week, he’s fully a part of this team,” adding, “Excited to see him still be the teammate that I know he is.”
Arizona Sports pointed to a connection: Ravens quarterbacks coach Israel Woolfork held the same job in Arizona last season. Over 2025 and 2026, Brissett has completed 64.3% of his passes with 33 touchdowns and 15 interceptions for the Cardinals.
The Ravens are 4-4, two games behind in the AFC North. Jackson is out at least four weeks.
The trade deadline is Nov. 10. The 3-5 Cardinals play the Seattle Seahawks before then. Under general manager Monti Ossenfort, Arizona traded quarterback Joshua Dobbs to Minnesota at the 2023 deadline.
