GLENDALE — The Arizona Cardinals have placed rookie running back Jeremiyah Love on injured reserve with a high-ankle sprain, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, as reported by Arizona Sports.
Love is expected to miss four to five weeks. He left Sunday’s Week 8 overtime win over the Dallas Cowboys with a right ankle injury after nine carries for 26 yards. He had already missed the previous two games with a different ankle injury.
“It’s a higher one,” coach Mike LaFleur told Arizona Sports’ Burns & Gambo. “It’s just been crazy unfortunate for the kid. … All he wants to do is be out there and help out his teammates, produce and win football games. So it’s a setback, for sure.”
The Cardinals drafted Love third overall in 2026, but ankle trouble has slowed his rookie year. In six games, he has 76 carries for 268 yards and a touchdown, plus 11 catches for 36 yards and another score.
Arizona also signed receiver Harrison Wallace III from the practice squad to the active roster and placed tight end Kenny Yeboah on practice squad injured reserve, Arizona Sports reported.
The 3-5 Cardinals face the Seattle Seahawks next. LaFleur also announced this week that Gardner Minshew will take over as the starting quarterback.
