Woman Found in Tijuana Is Not Missing Arizonan Shayna Feinman, Sheriff Says

PRESCOTT — A woman Mexican authorities said was missing Arizonan Shayna Feinman is not her, the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday, Arizona’s Family reported.

A Tijuana security force announced Monday that Feinman had been found Oct. 23 after reports of a woman matching her description in the city’s Encino neighborhood. On Tuesday, the sheriff’s office said U.S. investigators confirmed to detectives, based on physical evidence, that the woman is not Feinman.

Feinman’s sister, Kara, told Arizona’s Family she doubted the report from the start because she did not recognize the woman’s voice. The family says it has been through similar false sightings at least a dozen times.

Feinman vanished March 9, 2024, while walking to a friend’s house in the rural Peach Springs area, about 45 miles from Seligman, deputies said.

Her boyfriend and the owner of the property where she was last seen were charged with murder in what prosecutors treated as a no-body homicide, but those charges were dismissed. County prosecutors say the investigation remains active.

The sheriff’s office is still looking into the latest development. A $20,000 reward is offered for information on Feinman’s whereabouts.
