Tuesday Is the Last Recommended Day to Mail Ballots in Arizona; Maricopa County Returns Top 630,000

PHOENIX — With one week left before the Nov. 3 general election, Tuesday, Oct. 27, is the last day Arizona voters are advised to drop their early ballots in the mail, according to the Arizona Citizens Clean Elections Commission.

Voters who miss the mail deadline can still return a ballot at a drop box or an early voting center, or vote in person, Clean Elections Executive Director Tom Collins told Arizona’s Family. Those who have lost their mail ballot should plan to vote at an early in-person site or on Election Day, he said.

Maricopa County Elections data show about 630,000 ballots had been returned as of Monday morning, roughly 50,000 more than at the same point in the 2022 midterm. Turnout in that election reached 64% of county voters, above the county’s historical average of 56%.

Nearly 50 vote centers are open across Maricopa County this week, every day except Sunday. On Election Day, 254 voting locations will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., and voters may use any of them.

Collins also reminded voters that skipping races does not spoil a ballot. “It’s not a standardized test,” he said.
