TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Police have arrested a 15-year-old in Saturday night’s shooting that wounded 12 people, including six children, near the stadium at Florida A&M University during homecoming weekend, CBS News reported.
The Tallahassee Police Department said Anthony Rivers III faces 11 counts of attempted second-degree murder and a charge of possession of a firearm by a delinquent. Police said more arrests are possible.
Eleven people were shot and another person hurt an ankle while fleeing. As of Sunday, six victims remained hospitalized, one in critical condition, police said.
Investigators said a fight broke out in a crowded area after the football game, and that none of the victims appear to have been the intended targets. FAMU President Marva Johnson called the shooting “senseless and despicable.”
