PRESCOTT VALLEY — Prescott Valley police are investigating the death of a woman who was badly burned when someone tried to relight a backyard fire pit last month, KTAR News reported.
Officers and Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority crews were called to a home on Tracy Drive around 10:45 p.m. Sept. 24. The woman was flown to a Phoenix-area burn center, where she later died. A man at the home was also hurt but did not go to a hospital.
A GoFundMe started by relatives identifies her as Tammy Dodson and says she died Oct. 4 from burns “caused by another person’s actions involving gasoline and a fire.” Police have not confirmed her identity or said whether charges are possible.
