President Donald Trump signed an executive order Oct. 19 directing the federal government to boost research into women’s health, including creating a women’s health division at the National Institutes of Health, The Associated Press reported.
First lady Melania Trump, who pushed for the effort, appeared at the White House ceremony and said it would change the reality of women’s health in America.
The order also creates a White House task force on the issue, led by chief of staff Susie Wiles and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Its first meeting was set for the same day.
