KYIV, Ukraine — A Ukrainian drone attack shut down a data center run by Russian tech giant Yandex, the company said Sunday, the third strike on its facilities in four days, the Associated Press reported.

“As a result of the drone attack, the infrastructure of Yandex’s data center in Vladimir was damaged. Operations at the data center have been completely halted. There were no injuries,” the Yandex Cloud Telegram channel said.

The outage left users in dozens of Russian cities and in Kazakhstan, Belarus and Armenia unable to order taxis or access banking services, according to the independent Russian outlet Astra.

On Thursday, a drone attack took a Yandex data center offline in the Ryazan region. A day later, drones hit its major data center in the Kaluga region, partly putting it out of action, the company said.

Ukraine’s strikes on data centers follow Russian attacks on data hubs in Ukraine, as the two countries wage a long-range aerial war more than 4 1/2 years after Moscow’s full-scale invasion.
