BULLHEAD CITY — President Donald Trump brought his midterm campaign tour to Arizona on Wednesday with a rally in Bullhead City for Rep. Andy Biggs, the Republican nominee for governor.
Biggs is challenging Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs in the Nov. 3 election. Local officials and other GOP candidates were at the Mohave County event, which was one of two stops for the president Wednesday. Afterward he was scheduled to fly to western Montana to campaign for House candidate Aaron Flint.
The Associated Press reported that Trump again repeated false claims about the 2022 election in Maricopa County. Printer problems at some vote centers that year were investigated and reviewed in court, and they did not change any outcome.
Mohave County is one of the most Republican parts of Arizona. Rallies there are typically meant to drive turnout in GOP strongholds instead of winning over undecided voters. Early ballots are already out in Arizona, and the last day to request one by mail is Oct. 23.
A recent ASU poll showed Hobbs ahead in the governor’s race. Biggs has said he would sign many of the bills Hobbs vetoed.
