Jaguar Land Rover is recalling 93,997 vehicles in the United States, including certain 2022 through 2026 Land Rover Range Rover models, because the rearview camera image may not appear, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Friday.
NHTSA said the camera housing doesn’t have enough drain holes, so water can get trapped and damage the camera. A camera that fails to show an image when the vehicle is in reverse reduces visibility and raises the risk of a crash.
Dealers will drill more drain holes in the underside of the tailgate trim, inspect the camera and replace it if needed, at no cost to owners.
The automaker will notify owners by mail. Drivers can check whether their vehicle is included by entering its VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
