PHOENIX — Phoenix police are asking the public for help identifying two masked men who crashed a stolen vehicle into a gun store and made off with two rifles and ammunition.
Sgt. Sheree Lee told FOX 10 the pair first stole a vehicle from an apartment complex near 19400 North Cave Creek Road around 12:30 a.m. on March 27, then used it to smash into the store.
“The building they shattered it basically like a movie scene, right? Once they were inside, they were able to obtain two rifles and some ammunition, and then they left on foot,” Lee said.
Investigators said both suspects are men who wore dark, long-sleeve clothing and masks. One wore clothing with the word “Cali” on it, and the other wore clothing with white writing and Nike shoes.
Lee said the long sleeves stood out given the warm weather at the time and hopes that detail jogs someone’s memory. She also urged anyone who knows of a family member who suddenly obtained a rifle they shouldn’t have to call.
Police said the suspects remain at large, and it is unclear what the stolen weapons might be used for.
