MARICOPA — Residents of the city of Maricopa no longer need to boil their tap water after the city’s water provider canceled a precautionary advisory Thursday, KTAR News reported.
Global Water – Santa Cruz Water Company lifted the advisory after repeated testing for E. coli came back negative.
The advisory was issued Wednesday after two preliminary tests suggested the water could be contaminated. Samples were sent to a third-party lab, and the results were negative.
E. coli can cause intestinal illness and is especially concerning for people with weakened immune systems.
Residents do not need to take any special precautions before drinking or using tap water.
