List Of Arizona Athletes Who Are Qualified For The 2024 Olympic Games In Paris

Approximately 10,500 competitors from 206 nations will compete in the 33rd Summer Olympics in Paris. The Olympics are being held in Paris for the third time. The last occasion occurred at the 1924 Games, precisely one hundred years ago. It happened for the first time in 1900.

The 2024 Summer Olympics is a planned international multi-sport event. A number of competitions will begin on July 24 and the tournament will run from July 26 (the opening ceremony date) until August 11, 2024, in France. The principal host city is Paris, with activities also taking place in sixteen other cities throughout Metropolitan France and one subsite in Tahiti, an island in the French overseas territory of French Polynesia.

An unprecedented opening ceremony taking place outside the stadium will be a hallmark of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Over the Seine River, athletes will be floating.

The Summer Olympics in 2024 will include 329 events across 32 sports, including the 28 “core” sports that were contested in the Olympics in 2016 and 2020, as well as four optional sports that were suggested by the Paris Organizing Committee: breaking will return to the Olympics as an optional sport in 2020, while skateboarding, sport climbing, and surfing will also return. From weightlifting, four events have been removed. In canoeing, two slalom events have taken the place of two sprint events, maintaining the total of 16. The former “combined” event in sport climbing was broken down into distinct speed climbing, bouldering, and lead categories for every gender.

As the U.S. Olympic Team Trials take place, the majority of the rosters are beginning to fill out. The athletes and officials from Arizona who have qualified thus far are listed below. As additional athletes book their tickets to Paris, this list will be updated.
