Jerry West, the legendary figure whose silhouette graces the NBA logo, passed away at the age of 86, leaving an indelible mark on basketball as both a player and an executive.

Known by various names like “Mr. Clutch,” “The Logo,” and “Zeke from Cabin Creek,” his journey was nothing short of extraordinary.Jerry West’s impact on basketball is truly profound and far-reaching. From his stellar career as a player to his successful transition into coaching and management, he has left an enduring legacy.

During his 14 seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, West’s prowess on the court earned him 12 All-NBA selections. Despite the shorter playoff schedules of his era, he remains among the elite in postseason records, thanks to his clutch performances, notably a buzzer-beating 60-footer in the 1970 NBA Finals.

Transitioning seamlessly into coaching and management, West became renowned for his ability to build successful teams. Serving as an advisor for the LA Clippers since 2017, his basketball genius was recognized by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, who hailed him as a defining figure in the league’s history.His keen basketball acumen and leadership skills earned him praise from everyone.
