PHOENIX — Moisture from Hurricane Rachel is expected to bring rain and much cooler temperatures to metro Phoenix this weekend, the National Weather Service said Thursday.
Forecasters put the chance of showers at 20% Friday night and 50% Saturday, rising to 90% Saturday night, KTAR News reported. Rain and thunderstorms are also possible Monday.
“Right now, we’re not expecting any flooding issues, but we will have to keep an eye on that,” NWS meteorologist Alicia Ryan said.
The unsettled pattern is expected to last into the first half of next week, with breezy to windy conditions and several rounds of rain replacing the triple-digit heat.
