Cardinals’ Jeremiyah Love hurts ankle again; Bourne’s season may be over

TEMPE — Arizona Cardinals rookie running back Jeremiyah Love suffered a new ankle injury in Sunday’s 33-30 overtime win at Dallas, coach Mike LaFleur said Monday, according to Arizona Sports.

Love, the No. 3 overall pick, hurt his right ankle in the first quarter. He had already missed the previous two games with ankle trouble. LaFleur said this injury is a “different,” higher one.

“It’s just been crazy unfortunate for the kid,” LaFleur told Arizona Sports’ Burns & Gambo. “So it’s a setback, for sure.” He said more details would come later in the week.

Wide receiver Kendrick Bourne was helped to the locker room with an ankle injury late in the first half. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Bourne suffered a broken tibia that will not need surgery but carries a three-month recovery.

“It’s not looking good. Not saying it’s the season, but it might be,” LaFleur said of Bourne.

Running back Bam Knight entered the concussion protocol after a hard hit. He was feeling better Monday, and the team will know more about his status later this week.

Tyler Allgeier was the only running back available in the second half. LaFleur also said veteran James Conner, who has not played this season after a 2025 leg injury, probably will not be a factor this week.
