TEMPE — An Arizona State University Police Department commander has been placed on administrative leave, ABC15 reported Friday.
A department spokesperson confirmed that Commander Anthony Momon is on leave but would not say whether it is tied to an internal investigation, citing a policy of not discussing personnel matters.
Momon was promoted to commander in April 2024, according to a university news release, and is listed on ASU’s website as the department’s Support Services commander.
It was not clear how long he has been on leave or who is overseeing Support Services in the meantime.
The spokesperson also said another commander, Daniel Macias, has retired and no longer works for the department.
