PHOENIX — The Arizona Humane Society waived adoption fees Saturday for all 350 adoptable pets at its three locations, KTAR News reported.
The one-day event follows a record summer for the shelter and is part of its goal to find homes for 1,500 sick, injured and abused animals during October.
Among the animals waiting is Maddie, a 1-year-old Labrador retriever who has been in the shelter’s care for nearly 150 days. She was found injured as a stray in May and treated at the society’s Lazin Animal Foundation Trauma Hospital for an eye injury and a puppy cold before moving to a foster home.
Adoptable pets can be viewed on the Arizona Humane Society’s website.
