PHOENIX — Arizona gas prices fell for a third straight week, but drivers are still paying historically high prices for this time of year, according to AAA.
Maricopa County drivers were averaging $4.66 a gallon for regular, while Cochise County had the state’s lowest average at $4.44.
Diesel in Arizona averaged $6.38 a gallon as of Monday, close to the record $6.44 set Sept. 22. High diesel prices push up costs for trucking, farming and goods delivered across the state.
Nationally, averages ranged from about $3.61 in the cheapest states to $6.17 in California.
Drivers can compare local gas and diesel prices on AAA’s fuel price site before filling up.
