PHOENIX — Arizona drivers got some relief at the pump this week as the average price of regular gasoline fell 11 cents, from $4.66 to $4.55 a gallon, according to AAA figures reported by KTAR News.
AAA attributed part of the drop to the seasonal switch to winter-blend gasoline, which costs less to produce.
Even so, prices remain far higher than a year ago. Arizona’s average for October so far is $4.52 a gallon, compared with $3.36 in October 2025. The state also sits above the national average of $4.27.
Arizona ranks 10th among the states for gas prices. California is the most expensive at $6.23, followed by Hawaii, Washington, Nevada and Oregon. North Carolina has the cheapest gas at $3.70.
