APACHE JUNCTION — Apache Junction police are asking other possible victims to come forward after a man was accused of kidnapping an 18-year-old woman at gunpoint and assaulting her, KTAR News reported.
Pedro Torres, 32, was arrested Sept. 25 and faces eight felony charges, including kidnapping, aggravated assault, sexual abuse and first-degree burglary, police said.
Police said the woman was arriving home from work around 1 a.m. Sept. 24 near 16th Avenue and San Marcos Drive when an armed man forced her to leave with him. She was held for several hours and assaulted before being released, and was severely injured.
Detectives say Torres is linked to a gold or yellow 2014 Jeep Wrangler.
Anyone with information is asked to call Apache Junction police at 480-982-8260. The charges are allegations, and Torres is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
