SUN CITY — The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help finding a 2-week-old boy who deputies say was taken from a Sun City hospital by his mother, who does not have custody.

Benjamin Miller was last seen around 4 p.m. Nov. 3 leaving Banner Boswell Medical Center with his mother, 37-year-old Crystal Renee Miller, according to the sheriff’s office, as reported by FOX 10.

The sheriff’s office said the Department of Child Safety put a safety plan in place after Benjamin’s Oct. 25 birth because his mother had reported drug use. When DCS tried to take temporary custody at the hospital, the mother refused and left on foot, deputies said.

MCSO said the baby is considered at substantial risk of harm because of his age and needs constant care. He weighs about 5 pounds, has no hair and was last seen in a white and brown onesie.

Crystal Miller is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall and about 165 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. Her last known address was near 19th Avenue and Glendale Avenue. The sheriff’s office said she has been homeless and out of work.

Anyone with information is asked to call MCSO at 602-876-1011.
