PHOENIX — The NFL trade market is heating up a week before the Nov. 10 deadline, with the Chicago Bears making the biggest splash by landing Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, according to CBS Sports.
The Bears gave up two first-round picks for Simmons, a perennial All-Pro. He paid off right away with a sack and a team-high six tackles in his Chicago debut, a 34-17 road win over the Seattle Seahawks, CBS Sports reported.
The Indianapolis Colts were the most aggressive sellers, trading guard Quenton Nelson and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner in the same day.
Nelson, a six-time All-Pro, went to Seattle. CBS Sports said it is the fourth straight year the Seahawks have made a major midseason move.
Buckner returned to the San Francisco 49ers, who drafted him in the first round in 2016. The 49ers needed help after CJ West went on injured reserve and Alfred Collins was lost for the season with a torn patellar tendon. The Colts received a Day 3 pick for the 32-year-old, who is on an expiring contract.
Other stars on struggling teams who could still move include Jonathan Taylor, Khalil Mack and George Pickens, CBS Sports reported.
The Arizona Cardinals, 3-5, play Seattle before the deadline and could be sellers, with veterans such as Jacoby Brissett, Josh Sweat and Budda Baker mentioned as trade candidates by Arizona Sports.
