SCOTTSDALE — A man died after he was shot in what Scottsdale police say may have been a road rage incident Tuesday afternoon, and officers arrested a suspect at the scene.
Officers were called around 2:20 p.m. Nov. 3 to the area of 87th Street and Cactus Road, near the Loop 101 Pima Freeway, according to Arizona’s Family and FOX 10.
“Initial reports indicate the shooting may have stemmed from a road rage incident,” Scottsdale police said, according to FOX 10.
Police said officers found a man with gunshot wounds and gave him first aid until firefighters arrived. He was taken to a hospital in life-threatening condition and later died.
Investigators said the shooting appears to be isolated and there is no threat to the public. Police have not released the names of the victim or the suspect, or said what led to the confrontation.
“Our thoughts and condolences are with the victim’s family and loved ones during this difficult time,” police said.
Police asked drivers to avoid the area while detectives investigated, and said the scene would remain closed for an undetermined amount of time.
