TEMPE — Arizona State coach Kenny Dillingham did not rule out a move to Florida State on Monday, saying only that he is focused on this week’s game against Colorado, Arizona Sports reported.
CBS Sports and On3 were among the outlets linking Dillingham to the Seminoles after FSU fired coach Mike Norvell on Sunday. Florida State has gone 10-22 since a 13-1 season in 2023.
“We’ve done this before,” Dillingham said when asked whether he wanted to shut down the rumors. “I’m trying to find a way to beat Colorado.”
He praised the Buffaloes, saying they have been in every game and are explosive on offense. “I am 100% of the mindset of let’s go play our best game versus Colorado,” he said.
Dillingham has history with Florida State. He was Norvell’s offensive coordinator there in 2020 and 2021, after first working under Norvell at ASU in 2014 and following him to Memphis.
His name has also come up for jobs at Michigan, Penn State, LSU and Alabama in recent years. ASU gave him an amended contract with more staff and resources after Michigan pursued him last offseason.
Arizona Sports also reported that Jake Fette has earned the starting quarterback job, with Dillingham calling his potential “as high as anybody.”
