MESA — The three-day Mesa Music Festival kicks off Thursday with more than 200 performances across downtown Mesa, KTAR News reported.
Grammy-nominated band P.O.D. headlines the main stage at Macdonald and Main streets on Saturday. Other acts will play downtown venues, coffeehouses and breweries.
Mesa Caliente, a Latin music stage presented with Que Chevere, will be the festival’s third stage. A comedy stage called Off the Main, at 36 S. Robson St., will feature local comics and a Roast Battle League on Friday with Poppa Snoop as guest judge.
“The Mesa Music Festival puts emerging artists on the same stage as established names, and it puts visitors right in the heart of downtown Mesa,” said Marc Garcia, president and CEO of Visit Mesa, which presents the festival with PlayHouse.band.
A free speaker series Thursday features keynote speaker Matt Pinfield, the former MTV host, along with All-American Rejects frontman Tyson Ritter and songwriter-producer Gardner Cole.
“The speakers and mentors give the public and future artists a chance to learn from people who have built careers in the music industry,” festival producer Indian Antao said.
