TEMPE — Honeywell Aerospace plans to build a $500 million advanced manufacturing facility in Tempe that would create about 600 jobs, ABC15 reported.

The 300,000-square-foot plant, near the company’s global headquarters in Phoenix, is set to open in late 2028. Construction is expected to support more than 1,000 local jobs, the company said.

The facility will use an integrated digital production system with modular robotics, automated inspection, digital twins and a digital thread that tracks product data through manufacturing, according to ABC15.

“Expanding on our existing Tempe campus with this state-of-the-art new facility reinforces our commitment to this great state, our employees and the Arizona workforce,” Honeywell Aerospace President and CEO Jim Currier said.

The company said the plant will expand its capacity for defense technology production under a supplier agreement it signed with the Department of Defense in March.

The project adds to a string of major advanced-manufacturing investments in the Valley.
