PHOENIX — Phoenix Rising FC is back in the USL Championship playoffs, though it needed help from elsewhere to get there, Arizona’s Family reported.
Rising closed the regular season at home against Lexington SC needing a win to clinch a postseason spot on its own. The match ended in a draw, which would not have been enough by itself.
But both Orange County and Oakland lost their final games, handing Phoenix the eighth and last playoff seed.
Rising opens the postseason against New Mexico United next Sunday, Nov. 1, with a 4 p.m. kickoff.
