TEMPE — A motorcyclist is hospitalized after an alleged drunk driver struck him early Sunday near Curry and Scottsdale roads, Tempe police told 3TV/CBS 5.
The crash happened around 1 a.m. as a car was turning into an apartment complex and hit the man on a motorcycle, police said. The rider was taken to a hospital in serious but not life-threatening condition, according to Tempe police.
The alleged drunk driver remained at the scene and was arrested for driving under the influence, police said. AZFamily first reported the crash Sunday morning.
Authorities have not publicly released the names of the rider or the driver in initial coverage. The investigation into the DUI allegation continues under Tempe police.
