Man Dies in Sun City T-Bone Crash Near Del Webb and Bell Road

SUN CITY — A man died Saturday after a T-bone crash at Del Webb Boulevard and Bell Road, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said, as traffic investigators worked the scene through the afternoon.

Deputies responded around 1 p.m. to reports of a two-car collision with injuries. Dispatch told units a pickup had been struck and that the person inside was unresponsive and bleeding, according to KTAR News. Sun City Fire and Medical and MCSO crews freed the driver and attempted life-saving measures before he was pronounced dead at the scene. Arizona’s Family reported the man was in his 60s.

The driver of the other vehicle was conscious with non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Banner Boswell Hospital, officials said. First responders also described having to extricate a person who was stuck in a vehicle when they arrived.

It was not immediately known whether speed or alcohol played a role. MCSO traffic investigators took over the case, and the intersection area was expected to remain closed for several hours while deputies documented the scene.

Authorities had not released the victims’ names Saturday evening. Updates typically follow next-of-kin notifications and the completion of the on-scene investigation.
