Ukraine Missile kills 15 in Apartment Block, Russia Says

Moscow- On Sunday, According to Reuters  Russian officials reported that at least 15 individuals lost their lives and numerous others sustained injuries. The casualties occurred as a segment of a Russian apartment block collapsed, following impact from remnants of a Soviet-era missile. This missile, purportedly launched by Ukraine, was intercepted and brought down by Russian forces.Fragments of a Soviet-era missile, launched by Ukraine struck the building.The attack occurred in Belgorod, Russia.: The attack involved Tochka ballistic missiles and Adler and RM-70 Vampire (MLRS) multiple launch rocket systems.

The Russian Ministry of Defense labeled it a “terrorist attack on residential areas.” President Vladimir Putin was briefed and described the attack as “barbaric.”Kyiv asserts that its targeting of Russia’s military, transport, and energy infrastructure serves as a response to Russia’s assaults on civilian infrastructure and residential regions. This poignant incident highlights the relentless toll the ongoing conflict exacts on civilians. Despite both sides denying deliberate targeting of non-combatants, the casualty count steadily climbs.  According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook Russia has conducted 10 attacks on the KHARKIV FRONT in the vicinity of Lukiantsi, Hlyboke, Vovchansk and Buhruvatka (Kharkiv Oblast). According to NBCnews Russian President Vladimir Putin aims to create a buffer zone along the northern border, but until now, their military focus had been in the south and eastern Donbas region 3.
